You can get lost but never feel alone in this side of Kuala Lumpur. Jalan Alor is the place to go for anyone who wants to try the local food (and doesn’t mind walking/eating in the streets). I must say it’s quite difficult to tell what local is anymore though because the country is so diverse.
The food is amazing! And they’re really cheap too. You can find stalls where you can grill fresh sea food and meat. Many of the dishes seem to be Chinese but there are some that taste Indian or a combination of both.
They have fried frogs everywhere!
In the corner of 7-Eleven there are buskers playing for the crowd. I love how everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The diversity of races only adds to the beautiful colors of the city. People sing and dance together without inhibition. There’s no need to be pretentious. You can just lay down your hair and relax while you enjoy life.
Jalan Alor, is by far, my favorite stop (or stops since I went there 3 times) in Malaysia. It’s easy to go to also because it’s near the heart of the city. You can ride a bus and go down at the Bukit Bintang station. It’s a short walk from there. In the next street is where the night life is i.e. bars, clubs as well as massage parlors.
